Showreel of design work

Nothing gets me more excited than watching an agency showreel of work. In 90 seconds you can get a great snapshot into their thinking, their style, the kind of clients they work with and the type of projects they take on.

The aim of this showreel is to do just that – it’s a window into my world and some of the projects I have been lucky enough to work on over the last few years. I’m not one to prance around in front of the camera so have kept my appearance time down to a minimum and let the work do the talking.

I hope you enjoy it.

Falling in love with your operating system

There are a couple of films that have really identified with web designers and creative professionals in the last year. First was the ‘Steve Jobs’ movie that I really enjoyed (especially as a mac boy and designer) but ultimately was no more than a standard biographical film based on his life.

The second film is ‘her’ starring Joaquin Phoenix as Theodore and written, directed and produced by Spike Jonze. Revolver – for designers and not clubbers!

Where the beats get creative.

When a fellow marketing friend (Mike Drohan of 8 Bit Digital) and I first heard that a creative space was opening up next to Revolver (the infamous club), we were immediately intrigued. Could this be the design studio that we were looking for? Set in the old and iconic ‘music band-rooms’, Revolver Creative has been transformed into a hub of creative activity. I moved in as their first freelance web designer and couldn’t be happier with our new home. With an edgy interior, eco-friendly furniture (including cardboard desks – you need to see them to believe them!), a state-of the art IT infrastructure, a cool collective of like-minded designers, creatives, writers, videographers and generally smart brains and complimentary businesses, Revolver Creative is an inspiring and fun place to work.

Come down for a cup of coffee!

A new coffee machine has just been installed (complete with bartender!). If you are looking for a web designer, why not swing past for a chat about all things design.
